Ich höre überall Richard Wagner!
I knew thanks to the song title in the first place that Von Thronstahl’s “The Flying Dutchman” included Richard Wagner’s famous “Der fliegende Holländer” tunes. It was my first “Oh, I hear Richard Wagner!” moment. Yesterday I said this sentence a couple of more times!
First, it was for Arditi’s “Der Angriff Geht Weiter” (from the album “Omne Ensis Impera” which is by the way, great!) The song, again, includes Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer” tunes. Mostly the overture.
The second one was Horologium’s “The Great Hunting”. Again, it is “Der fliegende Holländer” but this time it’s not the overture but it is the “Summ und brumm, du gutes Rädchen” (spinning chorus of women: “Spin, spin, fair maiden”)
I wonder which song will be my fourth “I hear Wagner!” moment.
